It's difficult to watch the attack on organized labor in this country without getting angry. Obviously if the attacks on collective bargaining rights are successful in Wisconsin and Ohio we won't be far behind. I can hear it playing out in the press now; If only those airline workers didn't have collective bargaining rights airfares would be lower!
Here is a link to a YouTube video thanking the 14 senators in WI for standing up to the administration with the only tool left for them to use, fleeing. I found this link as it was posted by the Teamsters on Facebook.
Yesterday Ralph Ortiz from SFO sent a very interesting article form CNN titled "America's union story: Blood, struggle and bargaining for good and bad". It is a good read and can be found
here.
I can't imagine the prospect of losing these precious rights. The one thing that encourages me as this plays out is that it appears labor is responding to this attack in a very different manner than when the Air Traffic Controllers Union was destroyed. We have to stand together! That is what being UNION is all about!

EDIT: Not that anyone should be surprised, here is a link from the Washington Post that gets to the heart of the matter
